Dr. Jean Claude Abossolo officially assumes his duties as the new Deputy Permanent Secretary of the NACC

Dr. Jean Claude Abossolo was sworn in as Deputy Permanent Secretary of the National Committee for the Fight Against AIDS (CNLS) during an official ceremony held on Friday, April 4, in the institution’s conference room. The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Rogers AJEH, Coordinator of the Coordination Unit for Grants from the Global Fund and Partners in the Fight Against AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria.

On this occasion, the outgoing Deputy Permanent Secretary, Dr. ZEH MEKA Albert—recently promoted to Permanent Secretary of the National Malaria Control Program (PNLP)—urged CNLS staff to give their full support to his successor to enable him to succeed in his mission. He also reaffirmed his commitment to continue supporting the NACC in its fight to eliminate AIDS by 2030.

In his remarks, Dr. Rogers AJEH welcomed the appointment of Dr. ABOSSOLO, whom he described as the “ideal choice” for this strategic position. He encouraged him to draw on his field experience, particularly from his previous roles, to help achieve the institution’s objectives. He also expressed his gratitude to Dr. ZEH MEKA for his remarkable contribution to the fight against HIV/AIDS.

The inauguration ceremony featured several highlights, including the introduction of the staff, the symbolic handing over of office keys, the presentation of bouquets of flowers, and a guided tour of the premises.

Prior to his appointment to the CNLS, Dr. Jean Claude Abossolo served as District Health Director of Bafang.
