Candlelight 2026: Cameroon Honors the Memory of HIV/AIDS Victims Across All 10 Regions
The International AIDS Candlelight Memorial 2026 ceremony was held yesterday, Sunday May 17, 2026, simultaneously in all 10 regions of Cameroon. Organized by CCAF and CNLS, this commemoration brought together hundreds of participants who came to honor the memory of those who died from HIV/AIDS.
As from 3:30 PM, candles were lit across the country to keep the memory of the deceased alive and to reaffirm the collective commitment to an AIDS-free Cameroon. Under the theme _"10 regions, one flame, one memory, one hope"_, participants shared a moment of reflection, solidarity, and hope.
During the ceremony, they sang and prayed for the souls of those who had passed, joining their voices in a tribute filled with respect and compassion.
Armed with a candle, authorities, community actors, and citizens marked their commitment to strengthening the fight against HIV/AIDS and stigma.
One candle. One life. One hope. Yesterday, Cameroon made memory shine together.
