Monitoring and strengthening the HIV/AIDS response in the Far North Region
As part of efforts to monitor and strengthen the HIV/AIDS response in the Far North Region, the Regional Technical Group for the fight against HIV/AIDS (RTG-HIV Far North) convened a coordination meeting with key implementing partners on June 5, 2026, in the conference hall of the Far North Regional Delegation of Public Health. Chaired by the representative of the Regional Delegate of Public Health, the meeting brought together representatives from ACMS, GHSS, EpiC, the HIV Treatment Centre (CTA) of the Maroua Regional Hospital, and staff of the GTR-SIDA Far North.
The meeting provided an opportunity for stakeholders to review ongoing HIV response activities, assess progress achieved, and discuss challenges affecting implementation in the region. Participants also explored strategies to strengthen collaboration, improve coordination among partners, and enhance the delivery of HIV prevention, care, and treatment services. The session concluded with a renewed commitment to work collectively towards achieving national HIV response objectives and ending AIDS as a public health threat.
