The Permanent Secretary of the National AIDS Control Committee, Dr. Joseph FOKAM, was in the US for a 3-week program on health leadership. He is one amongst 15 global experts selected for the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). 

Dr. Fokam's US trip aims to strengthen Cameroon-US health partnerships and help end the AIDS epidemic by 2030.

Dr. FOKAM has attributed his success to the meticulous leadership of the Minister of Public Health, who doubles as President of the National AIDS Control Committee, Dr MANAOUDA Malachie.

About the U.S Health Program

Dr FOKAM, alongside the 14 other experts selected globally have been through different research/educational centres as the program progresses.

So far, they have been to the University of Baltimore MD, then NIH/NIAID. They equally had a field visit at a community centre (House three Thirthy) at Akron with health program focused on a family-centered approach. 

The team leaves Washington DC, for Cleveland for the next phase of the IVPL 2026. They would be visiting Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, a world class medical centre on Ai and Qauntum medicine. They would equally visit A US-based company on international supply chain management even toward African countries (Cameroon included). These visits will permit them understand different realities in different parts of the globe, share ideas and propose different recommendations that will be executed in their respective countries.
