As part of a working visit to strategic health programs and projects under the Ministry of Public Health, the Minister of Public Health, Dr. MANAOUDA Malachie, paid a visit to the National AIDS Control Committee (NACC) this June 3, 2026.

The visit provided an opportunity for the Minister to engage directly with NACC leadership and staff, assess working conditions, review the organization of services, and discuss challenges encountered in the implementation of HIV/AIDS response activities. During the exchanges, Dr. MANAOUDA Malachie reiterated the importance of efficiency, discipline, and a conducive work environment in achieving the objectives of public health institutions.

Following a tour through NACC’s premises, the Minister noted several constraints related to limited office space and the accumulation of archives and administrative documents. To improve the working environment, he recommended a rational management of available space through the sorting, filing, and proper archiving of documents, as well as the consideration of temporary or permanent storage solutions to free up office space and enhance staff productivity.

The Minister also emphasized the importance of administrative discipline and professional presentation, underscoring that appropriate attire contributes to the image, credibility, and professionalism of the public service. He further encouraged the promotion of workplace hygiene and cleanliness as essential values that support staff well-being and institutional performance.

After visiting other programs, the Minister also convened an enlarged meeting with personnel of the three programs under the Coordination Unit of the Global Fund and Partners for the Fight Against AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (UCS). Held in the conference room of the Public Health Emergency Operations Coordination Centre (PHEOCC), the meeting provided a platform for direct and constructive exchanges, enabling personnel to voice their concerns and share challenges encountered in the implementation of their respective activities. Attentive to the issues raised, Dr. MANAOUDA Malachie reassured participants that the various concerns would be carefully examined and addressed through the appropriate administrative and institutional mechanisms. Personnel of these programs appreciated the Minister for giving them a platform where their voices could be heard. They also said that they look forward to having more of such opportunities in future.
