Capacity Building for Judicial Actors to Protect the Rights of People Living with HIV and Tuberculosis
From March 20 to 21, 2025, the National Committee for the Fight Against AIDS (CNLS), in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice (MINJUSTICE) and the non-governmental organization JAPSSO, organized a capacity-building session for judges, prison staff, lawyers, court clerks, and bailiffs.
The main objective of this session was to strengthen the capacity of judicial actors to protect the rights of people living with HIV and tuberculosis. Participants received training on innovations in the fight against AIDS, the legal framework on the right to health—including sexual and reproductive rights—as well as the role of justice actors in promoting equality and non-discrimination in the context of HIV and tuberculosis.
The discussions were fruitful and led to strong commitments to enhanced collaboration between judicial institutions, the government, and civil society organizations as part of the multisectoral response to HIV in Cameroon.
