Mum was diabetic. When she died, I was told that I was predisposed and I didn't understand what that meant at the time. I went for treatment for a while, but then I gave up. I put on weight, I weighed 130 kg. I'd started exercising and I'd got back into shape a bit. I got involved with the Maison des Diabétiques to find out how to manage diabetes and live as long as possible. When you follow the advice, you're protected from complications. Some people aren't even informed, so when they arrive at the Maison des Diabétiques or hospital, they have complications. This may be due to a lack of communication, because diabetes is not talked about as much as other illnesses. I urge everyone to do as I have done.
